2022 Aligoté

Aligoté is one of Burgundy’s other white wines alongside the more famously known chardonnay. This humble grape is actually quite commonly found as a table wine in Burgundy. As the Chos look to plant lesser known varieties at Cho Vineyards, they wanted to see how Aligoté faired in the Chehalem Mountains AVA.

Technical data:

100% Aligoté from La Belle Promenade, at an exposed hilltop at a rocky 820 ft elevation. Diverse Jory and Nekia soils.

Appellation: Chehalem Mountains AVA

Alcohol: 12.6%

Winemaking: Bottled April 2022. Native yeast fermentation, 100% Neutral Oak in 600 L puncheons, whole cluster pressed. Full malolactic fermentation.
